Navy Pen is a literary magazine founded in 2025, and dedicated to showcasing the voices of teen and young adult writers, or anyone who’s just getting started. We believe that powerful, original writing doesn’t have an age limit or a time limit.
Our mission is to publish poetry, short fiction, and personal essays that resonate with honesty, imagination, and emotional depth. Each quarterly issue is built around a central theme, with open-ended prompts that encourage reflection, risk-taking, and experimentation.
We aim to build confidence and community—and offer a meaningful, professional platform that writers can include in college and job applications.
